  1. Analytics and Reporting – Insights

As a fanpage operator, we have access to so-called Insights. Insights are an integral part of a fanpage and contain anonymized statistical data from users who have interacted with our fanpage and/or its content. These data are collected through cookies set by Meta, each containing a unique user ID. Meta collects information on the following actions:

  • Viewing a page, post, video, story, or other content related to a page
  • Interacting with a story
  • Subscribing or unsubscribing to a page
  • Marking a page or post with “Like” or “Unlike”

In addition to these actions, Meta collects the following additional information about the action, your person, and the browser used:

  • Date and time of the action
  • Country/City (estimated based on the IP address or from the user profile for logged-in users)
  • Language code (from the HTTP header of the browser and/or language settings)
  • Age/Gender group (from the user profile, only for logged-in users)
  • Previously visited websites (from the HTTP header of the browser)

We do not have access to this information collected by Meta. As fanpage operators, we are provided with anonymized statistical analyses and reports from Meta. For the collection of the data shown for so-called events and their aggregation into anonymized page insights provided to us by Meta, we, as fanpage operators, are jointly responsible with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, so we have entered into an agreement with Meta for joint responsibility. You can retrieve this agreement under https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum. The essential contents of the agreement can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/information_about_page_insights_data.

By collecting and aggregating this data into anonymized statistics, we aim to better understand our page visitors and gain insights into which content of our fanpage is of interest to our audience. This allows us to optimize our content and information offerings based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR to best meet the needs of our visitors.

III. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Every data subject has the following rights:

  • Right to access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure or a right to be forgotten (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing personal data (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

You can object to the processing of personal data for advertising purposes, including customer data analysis for advertising purposes, at any time without providing reasons.

Additionally, the data subject also has a general right to object (cf. Art. 21(1) GDPR). In this case, the objection must be justified. If the data processing is based on consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

For the exercise of data subject rights, please contact us at datenschutz@conversionmaker.com. If you have questions about the use of your data concerning Insights or wish to exercise your rights as a data subject, please contact Meta’s Data Protection Officer directly: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/540977946302970.

Since we, as fanpage operators, do not have access to the data collected by Meta regarding your person within the Insights, Meta alone has the direct access to necessary information and can take necessary actions and provide information accordingly. Should you require our assistance, we are happy to support you.

IV. Notice Regarding the Identification of Visitors by Meta

If you wish to avoid this, you should log out of Meta, disable the “stay logged in” function, delete the cookies on your device, and restart your browser. This will delete Meta information that can directly identify you. You can then use our fanpage without revealing your Meta ID. If you access interactive functions of the page (e.g., Like, Comment, Share, Messages, etc.), a Meta login screen will appear. After logging in, you will be recognized by Meta as a specific user.
